April Abloom
April is quite easily my favorite month — and not just because of my birthday!
Yes, I turned 30 — for the 25th time! Shocker, right? My snow-bird parents came to visit and I took them for a session with the talented Markell Photography for a photoshoot— can you find us below?
This was a month of growth, both for me and for the gardens I visited. It has been unbelievably rejuvenating to experience the blossom of flowers as their petals unfurl, leaves springing forth again. Each day brought the lilies on my windowsill closer to bloom, until they put all their glory on display this beautiful Easter morning! We rejoiced, the crew hunted for Easter eggs, and we ate the Reeces version until our stomachs hurt.
Through some deep-digging research, I gained access to some beautiful private gardens on Charlotte’s Wing Haven Gardens for Gardeners tour. It was divine! Two days of exploring, seeing familiar things in new ways, and enjoying conversations with similarly plant-minded people.
Aside from my garden adventures, I had a plethora of four-wheeled adventures. My youngest bebe Calista took her turn behind the wheel for her first time cruisin’ on the highway. No bruisin’ took place, and we had a great laugh about her nerves after the fact. Zoe and I had a hot date with the car dealership, securing the wheels for Greg’s summer internship and her next school year.
April brought many showers, and the beginning of many May flowers. The rain washes away the old and ushers in a time of new beginnings…
AND I’ve booked an AirBnB in the heart of Charleston in June so I can tour some of the private gardens in this city famous for its secret spots. I have room for 2 more on the adventure. Shoot me a note at sharafinski@gmail.com if you might like to join us as we explore the magical alleys and passageways and gardens of a city time forgot.
XO,
Christy
