I was minding my own business, reading on the patio when… AH-HA!
An idea for today’s art came to mind.
I hastily gathered supplies from the studio and headed back outside with Clover, my faithful painting buddy.
I looked up to check out the bright blue sky.
Drew out my square and painted that luscious, painterly background.
Looked up again to check out the clouds.
Got distracted.
What’s that branch?!?
It’s dead. It’s scary looking. It’s over my head.
Clouds temporarily abandoned, I finished up inside.
You know, that branch will probably stay up there for a long time. It will most likely blow away from the house when its time comes. And it’s probably not as terrible as it looks from below.
Just like that website I’m working to create. It’s probably not as big a deal as it seems.
Or the webinar I’m giving tonight for high school seniors. I bet I’ll give them plenty of value and great tips.
These things seem a bit scary and intimidating and overwhelming to me. Yet I believe it’s worth it to set my sights higher, to keep moving forward. Even if there are some seemingly scary things between here and there.
Chances are, it will all turn out just fine. AND, I’ll have achieved my goals too!
